Before leaving for Italy next week I have been very intensely preparing work for an Artist-in-Residency at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. Every year they have an Advent Vespers Service with amazing music, the theme of which is the Magnificat (the Virgin Mary’s song of praise after the Annunciation). They have asked me to come for a week to make some paintings on the theme. I am humbled by the invitation, and have put together a few paintings to ship them for display before my arrival in December.
